From the beautiful smash of the compressor/limiter to the oft forgotten, but unique sounding eq section, this plug-in recreates the personality of the hardware with aplomb.” – Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Kiss) “The +10db recreates a piece of gear that may not be as ubiquitous as other well known counterparts, however the original’s sonic signature has made it a well kept (until now) secret weapon for me and countless other engineers. Professional Testimonials “Like DB, this thing is pure rock’n’roll! We’re loving the way it sounds on drums here.” This unit is a critical part of his drum mixing chain, and now it can be a part of yours. If you’ve ever listened to Breaking Benjamin or Paramore, or any of the other countless other records mixed by David Bendeth, one of the first things you’ll notice is how damn punchy the drums sound. We didn’t just use the hardware unit for inspiration, we dug in deep and made sure that it sounded just like the original. +10db is the first of it’s kind channel strip plugin modelled after David Bendeth’s personal compressor unit. Ted Jensen, Sterling Sound Mastering (Billy Joel, Green Day, Talking Heads, Norah Jones, Mastodon) Neal Avron (Linkin Park, Sara Bareilles, Switchfoot) "It’s what I had hoped it would be. Unless you refuse to listen to any music after Beethoven, you most certainly have heard this unit in action. ![]() Would an explosive wave that caused that much violent movement in reality have been severe enough to have destoyed the uboat? I would be interested to know.+10db is a channel strip plugin meticulously modeled after one of the industries most iconic hardware compressors. I have no idea at which point that would come, (subject to variables perhaps, like which part of the pressure hull took the brunt of the blast) and how much physical movement would manifest itself before the punishment it was taking would result in its destruction. Clearly there would come a point where if the explosive force was too great or close it would inflict unsustainable damage on the boat. How drastically this would affect the vessel I had supposed would depend on the force/proximity of the depth charges. I suppose they would know, though I haven't heard of any other uboat men who have voiced that particular criticism.Īs I understand it the 'falling around' was quite genuine in the film, as the set was on a gimbel that rocked and shook in a way to (theoretically) emulate the movement of a sub being subject to blast wave attack at depth. I hadn't heard that the crewmen of U-123 had said that.
